Airy European whimsy fills the dining room of this Upper East Side favorite, where Antonio Romano's colorful murals swirl and dance along every conceivable wall space. A tiled-mosaic brick oven acts as both the centerpiece and the divine source of some of the best thin-crust pizzas in the neighborhood. Aside from this beloved house specialty, the rather large menu offers many other tantalizing choices such as homemade ribbon pasta with wild boar ragout or lobster ravioli with broccoli rabe, as well as lots of creative antipasti and salads. The art carries over into the food, as every dish is creatively displayed -- again illustrating Bella Blu's penchant for color and design. Chef Paolo Floess concentrates on his native Northern Italian fare, striving for superior taste with uncomplicated elegance. Overflowing with a festive, party-like atmosphere, Bella Blu is a destination spot for anyone looking for a great meal and an entertaining time.

When you think a good italian restaurant with good service and great food this is the place to go to. The service and welcome you get when you come in is very welcoming. Great pasta dishes with a good choice of entree's. I have been coming here for at least 3 years.

Don't give up on eating at this restaurant just because you don't have a reservation. They will "squeeze" you in! Bella Blu has timely and attentive servers, fun decor, a lively atmosphere, and a variety of delicious Italian dishes. I was pleased by the prices and the portions sizes of the meals - not too much, just right. Most bottles of wine priced above $50.

Nice decor was covered by the jam-packed placement of tables being on top of each other. The food left much to be desired, two linguini's were ordered at the table, both were undercooked. The service was average, we waited a little long once we were seated to be greeted by our waiter.
