Designer Philippe Starck's dining room at the Morgans Hotel has been a white-hot culinary haunt for years, due to the relaxed mood and excellent food. The restaurant is airy and spacious, with two floors perfect for people-watching. Power-lunch spot by day, pick-up joint by night, Asia de Cuba is frequented by men with money and the women who want them. Prices aren't exorbitant by New York City standards, but nothing comes cheap here, either: Drinks cost more than an entree would at many mid-priced restaurants. But the cost is worth it, as you may well eat the best tuna tartare of your life here. Many of the dishes seem familiar but with a foreign twist, so your chips will be of the plantain variety rather than potato. As for dessert, the Bay of Pigs is a decadent ice cream sundae worth waiting for, but like most other dishes, it's made for a King Kong-sized appetite.

Why such a generous tip...................waistaff needs to survive in NYC and I am very generous. Please pay attention ASIA DE CUBA do not comp appetizers at the high cost of ones evening out but please rethink your floorplan to accommodate a comfortable dinner setting for your patrons, Sincerely James

only for drinks and dessert

Loved the "bay of pigs" crazy icecream banana boat concoction.. and hip drink cocktails. But for the price you pay you imagaine that the chairs wouldnt be rickety, the glasses chipped, the waitstaff learing at you or that you would find hair in the calamari salad!!!

Very nice place to go with lots of friends. Food was great. Don't go crazy and order alot. Their plates are enough for two.. LEAVE room for desert. LOVE IT.

After having the bad luck of dining at Caviar and Banana and listening to the freakish GM Melisa I decided to try this at a friends request better than C&B but still not worth the time
