Rate and Write a Review Cute as a button, this four-table pocket restaurant recently made a concession to success, somehow squeezing in a fifth table next to the dual gas burners that serve chef Marc Solomon (Red Strype, Les Deux Lapins) as a makeshift rangetop. Solomon spins big flavors out of his tiny workspace, offering an intriguing handful of Jamaican-inflected French dishes like pan-fried ackee-and-callaloo crepes and curried lamb pie with coconut creme fraiche. It's easy on the pocketbook (entrees range from $7 to $10) and long on charm; a laid-back reggae soundtrack aptly complements the food. -- Jacob Levich

disappointment
I have eaten at A's sister restaurant, Ivo & Lulu, several times. I loved it, so I thought I'd give A a try. What a disappointment. The food seemed warmed over, whichever poster said it's not even cooked there might be right. I also got sick in the middle of the night. I will stick with Ivo & Lulu, that place is amazing, with a great ambiance, a fabulous waiter, and amazing food. I'm wondering, are the owners perhaps focusing their energies on Ivo & Lulu? Or is there a change in ownership at A?
DO not GO
Terrible experience: food was bad, it doesn't seem very hygienyc! I was sick when I came back home from the food. Besides, it's not that cheap, a pizza tastes better compare to that!
great!
Incredible food, great ambience. One of my favorite spots!

They may cook in a toaster oven. They may rub two sticks together. However they do it, the food was terrific. The serive firendly and efficient. That the prices are reasonable and that you can byob makes this a very attractive option.
