In spite of the devil -- or maybe because of him -- there is a new temptation in town. Due to the recession, many folks have chosen to change their career paths. Joe Carroll and Kim Barbour are two such people. Recently they made the transition from being Manhattan working stiffs to being bar owners in Williamsburg. But rest assured: The two take their new job seriously. Spuyten Duyvil has over 100 different bottled beers on offer from small breweries around the world. For those who love the frothy draft, there are always six imports on tap, which rotate according to whim, taste and availability. While there is no kitchen, there are plenty of highbrow nibbles to be had including various cheeses and antipasti like prosciutto and olives. Possibly to match the somewhat incongruous decor of a dated coffee shop, homemade pie is served as well. -- Ashley Lederer
