Mediocre 08/19/2007

You go there for the fun.

The Most Generous Person 07/27/2007

I know Stan's family and can assure you it is the most friendly and welcoming place you will ever visit. Steve reminds you that, "Stan's isn't just Sunday". We go and have wonderful Surf and Turf during season and excellent seafood. They give generous protions and are very gracious to their guests. Try it you will like it. Almost every week there is fund raising for some worthy cause and plenty of hospitality to go around. Their buffalo shrimp is worth the trip alone. Our friend Danny Odum and Jeff Hilt play there, and you will always love the music. They are first class! Shirlean

Love the music 07/27/2007

Love the country music and atmosphere, but too much joking and by Stan so people are seen leaving.

I love Stan's Restaurant 07/25/2007

Most of the reviews that I have read give Stan's a very favorable rating. I am mystified by the individual who stated that they consider the food as "garbage". Just goes to show that you can't please everyone, no matter how good the food is. Speaking of the food, Stan's has the best soft shell crab that I have ever eaten. Actually, their entire Seafood Platter is excellent. No fancy Fusion cuisine here, just fresh, flavorfull seafood cooked to perfection. If the outdoor seating is too informal, Stan's offers an indoor dining area should satisfy even the hardest to please. Treat yourself some summer evening (no waiting in line with hungry Snowbirds) and see for yourself.

It's the entertainment STUPID! 07/19/2007

forget the food. It's ok but...if you want to be entertained this is it! It's like a real life Gong Show! It's crazy, it's stupid, it's simple, it's FUN! Ditchdiggers stand alongside attorneys, bikers befriend fishermen. Gotta go Sunday afternoon. I lived in Naples for several years. Every single visitor to our home was introduced to Stans Idle Hour Restaurant. I agree, the food is so so but that's not why you go to Stans. Sunday, Sunday, Sunday. Be prepared to drive to your condo wondering, "what the hell was that all about". Your belly will be hurting from laughing. Go to Stans.

always been a great place 07/01/2007

I started going to Stans in the early 1980s, and still go when I get that far south, from the people you meet to listening to Stan sing it has always been great, from his sons to the old boy I use to drink with called The Fox, Stan started with a couple of pool tables and a juke box with a few Jimmy Buffett songs that we just kept playing, while another old boy made hats to order out of palm tree leaves, what started out as a fun little bar has turned into a great bar that makes most people forget everyday life, Stan will sit down and sing any lady a nice love song or kick out What kind of fish is that to the crowd , Its a down home type old fishing village in the middle of a busy world, so just go to enjoy , dance, eat and maybe a drink or two, you might just meet a legend, because Stan is the Man in Goodland. thanks for the time, Kentucky Dave. PS I be back in Goodland in JULY and cant wait to see all the people at STANs IDLE HOUR BAR

You obviously don't understand 06/22/2007

I would suggest "can't believe this place" never return to Stan's. I would hate for you to put a damper on everyone's fun. Stan's is an anomale and for the open minded person is a melting pot of diversity. Everyone gets along and I have never seen an altercation in my ten years of going there. This is quite a statement considering the mix of alcohol, bikers, retirees, tourists and Goodland locals. Stans rocks and the Buzzard Queen is alone worth the trip.

CAN'T BELIEVE THIS PLACE 05/19/2007

GOD DOES THIS PLACE HAVE A LOT TO BE DESIRED~ FROM THE FOOD TO THE ENTERTAINMENT. CAN'T UNDERSTAND WHAT THE FASINATION IS ABOUT THIS? FOOD IS GARBAGE, AND THE SERVICE IS NIL.. NOT WORTH THE TRIP. THIS IS AN HONEST EVALUATION!

Tackiest Fun in S. Florida! 05/16/2007

When we discovered Marco Island in 1990, our lives changed. We lived in Coral Springs and received a gift certificate from a friend to stay at a hotel there. We fell in love with the island and the people. Within 1 1/2 hours, we are in a different 'world' -- peaceful, fun, laid back and the nicest people in Florida. Someone told us about Sunday afternoons at Stan's and we went, never excpecting to have such a blast!! Motorcycles and cars lined up for a mile. People were there from all over the U.S. Live band music, outdoor dance floor and comedy. A few "out of the ordinary" partiers make it even more fun. The gift shop is an experience in itself. So fun!! We were there this past Sunday and had another great Sunday afternoon at Stan's! We'll be back asap.
