Before dinner at The Library, you can peruse the books throughout the restaurant or select a wine from the wine room to complement your meal. When it's time to eat, your meal is as much of a performance as it is nourishment, and your waiter plays the starring role. There are no bus boys, and the waiter is totally in charge of the customer from start to finish. Each waiter has to recite the menu script before they go out on the floor. All of the waiters are qualified in table- side preparation, so whether they are preparing your steak Diane, Caesar salad or bananas Foster, you'll have a front-row seat. Other favorites are the rack of lamb, grouper amandine and Dover sole. You won't find any fried foods here, and there is no microwave in the kitchen. The clientele is slightly older, and the atmosphere is decidedly upscale. -- Lauren Kafka
