College students, professionals and seniors fill up on what's known as the best Chinese in the area at Ho Wah Restaurant-a Myrtle Beach institution that opened nearly 30 years ago. Decor is simple and traditional for a Chinese restaurant, with linen tablecloths, lanterns, bamboo and Chinese prints. Highlights of the Cantonese, Mandarin and Szechuan cuisine include the house special soup - Ho Wah's version of won ton with vegetables, pork, shrimp and chicken. The Happy Family entree, with lobster, filet mignon, black mushrooms, bamboo shoots and bok choy, is also popular. It's casual, but not mall food court blase. --Tamar Anitai
