Set in Montgomery's historic Union Station, Lek's is a truly unique experience in every way. The city doesn't have too much to choose from in the way of exotic fare, so it's a good thing that this railroad-style location is right on track with its authentic Thai menu. Get ready to chew, chew on such Asian sensations as Panang chicken (served in coconut milk with lime leaves), seafood curry and Lek's own Choo Chee fish (orange roughy and peppers in chili sauce). Just be sure to ask your server to go easy on the spices if you've got a sensitive palate -- some of these dishes (like the Chicken Volcano) have been known to set fire to a mouth or two.

Fresh food with elegant feel

I'm a picky eater but Lek has something for everyone. I love the Beef Broccoli, Ginger Chicken and Spicy Chicken, just to name a few. I eat at the Union Station location. It's awesome! I went twice in one week and Lek knew me on site. It's the closest to Thailand I'll probably ever get. The food makes my mouth water just thinking about it. :)

Great all-around

We like the attentive service, the great atmosphere and location, and good food. I like the sushi dishes, especially. It is always fresh and tastes wonderful, and several original sushi dishes are fantastic - love the "Bama Crunch" roll! The Thai dishes are good-to-excellent, depending on what you order. The prices are reasonable, and nothing is wrong with the portions. I've had better Thai food in San Francisco and Bangkok, but for Montgomery, this restaurant is among the best there is.

Ain't what it used to be.

I used to live in Thailand and loved the food and enjoyed Lek's when they first opened. The food doesn't have much flavor any more. They've skimped on everything and I can do better now with plain old minute rice. I might consider going back if they got some real cooks and put the Thai flavor back.

Disappointed
By njen1111 on 06/06/2007
I used to eat at Lek's on Atlanta Highway often for lunch...several years ago. I loved the Pud Thai. I recently visited the Union Station location for a special occasion and was very disppointed. My mouth was watering for the Pud Thai. What was at one time a huge serving was miniscule. We could not believe the tiny portions each of us got. Instead of getting just the chicken, I ordered Chicken and shrimp. The shrimp was very fishy and made the dish unedible. None of us will be back soon.
