Consistently rated as one of Milwaukee's most romantic restaurants, this Italian eatery has been a favorite with locals since it opened in 1982. Tucked away on the south end of Farwell Avenue, the first thing to hit you when you walk through the door are the warm and inviting scents that waft down the narrow dining room from the kitchen. The atmosphere and decor are reminiscent of classic Italian cafes, decorated with an eclectic assortment of richly upholstered chairs and sofas. As the name might suggest, the specialty here is pasta. Unlike many other local Italian eateries, each pasta and sauce on the menu is made entirely from scratch. The varied, regional Italian menu features dishes like chicken walnut pasta, smoked salmon alfredo with mushrooms, cheese ravioli with veal scallopini in a roasted garlic cream, and shrimp pesto linguini. Finish dinner off with highly recommended tiramisu, or head to the wine bar for an after dinner drink. -- Rachael Liska

ALWAYS WONDERFUL!
By chefmetcalfe on 05/10/2008
I know The Pasta Tree has been around for along time but you need to check it out! There is a new owner,She has been a long time friend of the old owners and was once employed there. I was pleasantly suprized that they are finally taking reservations. Which are definately needed on Fridays and Saturdays. The Wine bar is open and it is evident that there has been some great effort put into the wine list. Lots of great choices including wine flights. I tasted the pinot grigio flight it was fun and educational. The food was amazing! Lots of new items. Great place. I can smell it now.YUM! Must Try!!!!! Don't forget they are open for lunch!

Pasta Tree Is "OK"
By lanvino on 02/28/2007
Have been there many times in past, has been a couple of years now however. But it was very cramped, and not very private for a nice romantic meal. Additionally, I found the food to be hit and miss. Sometimes it was incredible and others just OK. I would recommend trying it, but wanted to inform others of the atmosphere and my experience.
