Located in the Edgewater Hotel along the shores of Lake Mendota is The Admiralty, which combines exquisite meals along with some of the greatest views in Madison to create a most romantic dining experience. Open your meal with a shrimp cocktail or brie cheese with purple plum preserves encrusted with golden-brown phyllo dough. Skip the couscous salad, if you can, for the Edgewater Bookbinder Soup: It contains generous chunks of red snapper, onion, celery, green pepper and tomato blended in a rich fish-and-beef stock with sherry. House specialties such as Seafood Madrid (sauteed lobster, sea scallops and Gulf shrimp with scallions, bell peppers and shallots, finished with a Pernod basil cream served with linguine) and Steak Diana (sauteed tenderloin medallions with scallions, Bermuda onions, tomatoes, mushrooms, garlic and herbs, and Dijon mustard enriched with red wine and brandy) are prepared right at your table.
