Known for its celebrity clientele (John Travolta, Nicole Kidman and Pierce Brosnan have all been spotted here), Toscana sits in the heart of Brentwood at the base of an office building. Inside, the rustic decor includes distressed tables, ceramic jugs and posters of old Italy. And just like a traditional trattoria, the kitchen is exposed, so you can keep an eye on what's cooking. Lunch bustles with agents, actors and local business people, and the close seating allows you to overhear the next big movie deal. Once you've tired of eavesdropping, enjoy a caprese salad before moving on to main dishes such as the seafood risotto or one of Toscana's super-thin, crunchy pizzas. Unlike most see-and-be-seen spots, there's no attitude here, and the food speaks for itself. Regular customers are known to score complimentary desserts like the tiramisu and a fruit and creme tart.

Rocknrlman's Review

I'm full-blooded Italian, born in Italy and raised in Chicago. I've lived in LA for three years. Since I moved, I've been searching for an Italian restaurant that I consider good. Although these other critics have their negative opinions, I think the food at Toscana is great. If people know good Italian food, they should know of a place in Ft. Lauderdale called Moterano's. The food at Toscana is just as good if not better than Moterano's. I had my dad out here, who is a tough sell. He agreed with me. I only give it four stars because it's not easily accessible. It IS packed. You WILL wait (unless you get there right when they open). But I don't go there for the crowd or the agents. I go for the food. P.S. As for the bread recycling-- what, you don't think most restaurants do the same routine behind that kitchen door? At least they have the respect to do it right in front of you... Ciao.

Heard it was the best italian around, not. The desserts looked like they were old from sitting out all day. The waiter was rude and the food is over-rated.
