Food this good has no place getting served on the spot. Matt Lyman and Erik Oberholtzer, who met in more formal, four-star digs cooking at Hotel Casa Del Mar and Shutters on the Beach respectively, have cooked up a novel plot here. Big farm-fresh salads, on-demand Angus flatiron steaks and porch swing quality lemonade are all served as a generous reward for waiting in line to order. The only drawback might be that noise levels make it a tad difficult to order from -- and hear -- your personal food technician. It's a small price to pay for sublime socially-conscious cuisine. And speaking of small prices, they're quite reasonable considering the quality; that is, you can get line-caught ahi tuna with a simple salad and perfectly chunked-up mashed potatoes for just $9.
