With nary a belly dancer in sight, Tagine proves you need only good food, not props from Aladdin, to keep people returning to your small world. In fact, the only hip gyrating will likely be yours after digesting the lighter, California-fied interpretation of Moroccan, a la carte or via one of two reasonably-priced tasting menus offering hummus, Moroccan salads, the flaky-baked bastilla and either chicken, lamb, fish or shrimp. Co-owned by actor Ryan Gosling, Christopher Angulo and chef Abdessamad "Ben" Benameur, Tagine may be tiny, but it's got sex appeal thanks to candle-filled Moroccan lanterns and exposed filaments illuminating the filo dough -- and full people -- below.
