Like a 'Sex and the City' version of Jerry's Famous Deli, Swingers is an ultra-hip dive of Formica countertops, jukebox music and tattooed waitstaff. The late-night restaurant has two locations, one in Santa Monica and the other just outside Hollywood. Each has vinyl booths that can seat four or squeeze a party of six. Especially popular with Fred Segal bohemians, Swingers fills the culinary demands of breakfast or even a 3AM binge, as selections on the menu range from diner specialties to quasi gourmet. Aside from the spicy chicken apple sausage, breakfast includes straightforward American staples that can accompany the predictable pancake and egg plates. Dinner presents less common selections as well as international specialties unique to Swingers. The pasta bowl of chicken and farfalle is a menu favorite, and the burritos, meatloaf and Thai stir-fry all stand out from traditional diner fare. Prices are higher than you would find at Denny's, Norm's or Jerry's, with breakfast at around $8 and dinner at $10 and up.

Props toSwingers!

All I am saying is that me and a bunch of friends went there after a night of it on New Year's Eve and the place was jumping at 3am with plenty of eye candy for all. The food was just what the doctor ordered and the service was great. Not at all what you would expect anywhere on New Year's Eve! We will all be back. Thanks for a great ending to a great night. Cheers!

This joint review

It really is disappointing and irritating to see your waiter make sure the "trendy" people around you get well taken care while you wait an hour for your food and then have to wait still another 45 minutes for the check. it was taking so horribly long that we were almost ready to walk out. We went up and asked for our check and he still gave us attitude even after he lost the check! Sorry i'll stick to Denny's or King Taco from now on.

By timr5 on 07/31/2004
First it took an hour to get our food. My wife & I were chating. Not paying to much attion to the time. When the food came out it was cold and not good at all! Very small portions. The service was so bad We almost got up and left after the foom came out.The waiter was just trying to hard to be cool. It's so overrated!
