Price Per Person: $30+* Kid-Friendly Perks: None Blue Plate Special: Ruth's Chris takes the finest aged, corn-fed USDA Prime beef, cooks it in custom-made broilers at temperatures exceeding 1700 degrees to release the steak's natural flavor, and then serves it up on a 500-degree plate to ensure that the steak stays sizzling all the way into your belly. The Dish: Ruth's Chris Steakhouse has been serving up some of the tastiest steaks around (at moderate prices) since the first one opened in New Orleans in 1965. This family-oriented restaurant offers fresh seafood, chicken, veal, lamb, salads and vegetables, in addition to its savory filet, NY strip, porterhouse, rib-eye and T-bone steaks. Those not interested in beef should give the mushrooms stuffed with crabmeat, the fresh lobster or the stuffed chicken breast a go-around. An extensive wine list is also offered. Top off your meal with a slice of chocolate sin cake -- that is, if you have room for dessert. Lunch is available at some locations. The Atmosphere: Each location is decorated according to local tastes. What they all have in common is a relaxed, informal atmosphere where diners feel free to linger. -- Tom DiChiara *Price Per Person includes entree, drink & dessert

GREAT steak
By bcfortune on 11/17/2004
Like their food - the steaks, the crab cakes, the bread, the butter ... Tea was OK but only one teabag and hot water was not boiling hot and the pot was small. They should give you the tea bags in holders like the sugars - I usually use three bags in two cups water per meal. The tall Black girl hostess doesn't know how to smile and the Latin giant table setter/waterer was SOO loud - he didn't talk he yell and a group of Asian smelling of cigarettes and perfume passed by our table and the smell was there until we left. Enjoyment of food is not only that of the taste - it's sight (no ugly scary staff or fellow diner), sound (music or talk), smell (food or others), touch (the texture of food, seat, napkins, utensil -the hot plates should be on wooden plates - all of us burnt our fingers even the waiters warned us). A small plant, herb, a fresh flower...on the table would be nice. All the waiter/waitress for our table were very qualify. Will go again.
