There's serious steak, and then there's Ruth's Chris. Long famous for its superior cuts, Ruth's takes the finest aged, corn-fed USDA Prime beef, cooks it in custom-made broilers at temperatures exceeding 1,800 degrees to release the steak's natural flavor, and then serves it up on a 500-degree plate to ensure that the steak stays sizzling all the way into your belly. While this location of Ruth's Chris Steak House may be tucked away at the backside of a mall, the flavors savored here are miles away from the food court. The New Orleans-born chop house not only touts a mean steak -- there are eight juicy selections served a la carte -- but also fish, chicken and salad. Mashed potatoes with garlic, sweet potato casserole and lyonnaise sauteed with onions are found on a list labeled "potatoes," and can practically be considered a meal by themselves. Over 250 wines from an award-winning selection will help you wash down your steak and spuds.

Terrible Front Door Staffing
By VeraLeyking on 07/10/2008
The food is great. The servers are good. But the front door staff is polite but terrible. I have been going here for a number a years and each time it's the sme story. Even with a reservation, I have been kept waiting at the door or the bar for at least 15 minutes anytime I have dinner after 7pm. The employees at the front desk are not honest about the estimates they give for waiting time if you walk in. IThey always say 15 minutes but it is closer to 30 or 40 minutes. If you go to this place, have dinner between 5:30 and 6:30 and your chances of being kept waiting are less.

We love a fine steakhouse.
By Rjwor on 07/10/2008
The very best steak is expensive. A lot of preparation goes into the final product. Also you have to have the very best cut of steak. Anybody can have a steakhouse but it is usually tough to eat. You get what you pay for and I am on a fixed income.

Steak House
By TEA0822 on 06/17/2008
Not bad, but WAY, WAY overpriced. A very poor value. I have been there and I love steak. But it shouldn't cost a week's dining budget for one visit. The Australian steak place, especially the new one on Brand Blvd. in Glendale. I was there last Saturday night and it was delicious and a very, very good value.
