Rate and Write a Review If you haven't eaten at La Brea's landmark hotdog stand, you've certainly seen the throngs of hipsters, skaters, transients and executives queueing for franks like the sour-cream laden Martha Stewart dog or the Matrix Reloaded, which is three hot dogs in a mondo tortilla, plus three bacon slices, three slices of cheese, plus onions and chili. In short, everyone in LA is pink about Pink's. Talk about a populist, pluralistic dining experience! Look for the goldmine stand to start stumping for a spot in Sacramento within the next year with the campaign slogan "leave no frank fanatic behind." The Pink's dog is ripe, flavorful, fattening -- everything a proper hot dog should be. So why the hysteria? After all, dozens of stands serve up dynamite dogs and don't attract lines of limousines at off-hours. Could it be the homemade chili sauce? The turkey alternative? The prime real estate? Scholars and researchers may write the craze off as one of the universe's enduring mysteries. In the meantime, if you're in search of a 2AM artery-clogging link or burger, you know where to line up and wait. -- Jeremy Horelick
