Located on the Main Street strip of south Santa Monica that feels more out of a less urban beach town up PCH, the Omelette Parlor's bright facade and vintage interior remind you you're in LA by the blown up photos of historic Santa Monica on its walls and healthful options on its menu. With raised booths in the center aisle and sunny yellow walls with dark wood on banisters and seats, the place is refreshingly quaint, if a bit cozy in space. Seating on the sunny, leafy patio out back is equally pleasant. Crisp, white-shirted servers start by bringing you a choice of coffee or fresh-squeezed orange juice (or both). As the name would suggest, the omelettes are the main draw. They're made with three grade AA large eggs and stuffed fat with fillings. They range from healthy (like the Merlin, with spinach, swiss and mushrooms) to hearty (Renters Rights, with bacon, potato and sour cream or Chili Hernandez with a meaty chili, cheddar and onions). Early risers can enjoy them all for half price on weekdays from 6-7AM. Weekly specials include huevos rancheros and a cream cheesey lox scramble. Non-egg lovers will find combos of waffles, French toast and pancakes (pancakes served weekdays only) and a selection of appetizing sandwiches and salads.
