From the peppery piece of octopus they put on the complimentary olive platter to the pitchers of sangria flowing red across the dining room, Ole! Tapas Bar bleeds Spanish pride from concept to execution. With its quintessential cuisine for the indecisive -- tapas -- you can get everything from sauteed snow crab cake to grilled eel with layers of pineapple and fried goat cheese with honey, which behaves like stucco against your stomach walls. Tapas range from $6 and $10, but bigger entrees exist, too, such as the duck with sweet potato and pomegranate marinated chicken. Much like the real thing in Madrid, most of the small plates are hit or miss in quality. (Cheer the sauteed artichoke and mushroom, but besmirch the baked omelet.) The good news is that if a dish is lacks the certain flavor you'd expect, the decor does a nice job of compensating. From the burnt orange and brown walls splattered with murals of bullfighting toreadors to bathrooms wallpapered with Spanish newspapers and magazines, there's a design presence worth gawking at from Innovative Creations. If tapas aren't your taste, plunk down in the bar area with a cozy friend and split a sangria. Ole even has an all-female valet crew (Valet of The Dolls), who greet with you with a certain flair before you head inside for your shared affair.

Half fantastic -
By davidreese77 on 08/31/2006
The good - The ambiance is fantastic; just the right amount of lighting, huge booths, comfortable lounge couches and a good amount of regular half-booth tables fill this medium sized restaurant / bar. The background music (foreign salsa-type / middle-eastern) is set at the perfect volume. The walls are adorned with paintings of matadors and such. We ordered the mushroom and artichoke tapas, which was fantastic, and the raw halibut tapas, which I'll describe in the "not so good" section. The entree was the seared ahi tuna. Exceptional in both presentation and flavor, this was one of the best entrees I've had in a very long time. The lemon drop martini was good also. The service was fantastic but the valet looks like she just came out of rehab, and my car smelled of cigarettes when it was returned to me. I don't smoke. Not so good - The raw halibut tapas (keep in mind i'm an avid sushi fan) was on the borderline of bad and disgusting. It was fishy, and covered in a sauce that tasted EXACTLY like a men's urinal smells. I actually wondered at one point if it had indeed been in the urinal. The dessert of Spanish nougat, which I can't remember the name of, tasted like marzipan which I detest. If you like marzipan, you might like it but the menu to my recollection said nothing about almond flavor. Had it, I wouldn't have ordered it. REALLY not up my alley. The coffee tasted ok but was so black that a quarter mug of straight cream brought it to a dull dark brown. Overall, it's a great conversation bar. A good place to grab a drink and unwind. The food seems to be hit or miss. I'd go back for another try and would recommend it to others, but don't expect perfection.

restaraunt?????
By amchalme on 05/29/2005
At eight O' clock in the evening you can't here the watier because the music is so pounding, nor can they here you.The drinks are weak and the service is very rushed. They brought our main course (LAMB CHOPS)while we were just starting our appitizer. They took it back only to return with overcooked and cold. Once again took it back only to return with two less Chops on the plate.Managment is very rude and does not care about making their coustomers happy.Never go back again, untill the next restaraunt moves in.
