Buttery blond wood and cheerful paper lanterns soothe the senses from the moment you enter this little restaurant, making you wonder if perhaps owner Morihoro Onodera is a feng shui master as well as a master sushi chef. He's definitely a multi-talented man -- in fact, all the beautiful flatware pieces and ceramics that grace the tables are his handiwork. His restaurant is a favorite of foodies and other chefs. It's known for superb sushi, good service and an inviting atmosphere. The food is clever and complex for the most part, although nigiri and maki standards are done by the book. Order a la carte, or do what most of the regulars do and order the Omakase (chef's choice menu). Selected and prepared by Chef Mori, it offers up a sampling of daily specials and signature items. It's perfect for sushi aficionados and adventurous newbies alike. For lunch, there are several dine-in specials. The wine list is getting bigger and better all the time. -- Lena Katz

With no sign nor name on this restaurant, it must be very confident of itself, and well it should be. The way to go is to do the Omakase or table d'hote. Leave it up to the chef, and he wil present you the best he has. Of course, one must pay the piper in the end, for the Omakase ends you up down about $100. But it is well worth the price of admission. Parking can be hard to find, but don't let that stop you for a trip into culinary nirvana.
