So convincing is the village piazza motif in this restaurant, you nearly expect to see buskers playing for spare change or courting couples strolling past your table. But, no -- it's all an illusion created by detailed brushwork and careful lighting. The walls are painted to look like building facades, while white archways and brickwork help complete the fantasy. A grand piano is ensconced in a private little nook, almost invisible till the evening's entertainment starts around 7PM. There's only one pianist, but all the servers take turns singing Broadway hits or operatic arias. The crowning touch is the 'Valentine Table'. It sits all by itself on a tiny balcony, looking down on the rest of the restaurant. This table can be reserved for a fixed price meal that tops out at over $100 (all-inclusive), but according to owners Frank and Joe Miceli that price is matched by the more than one-hundred successful wedding proposals that have taken place at that very table. The menu here is the same as at the original location on Las Palmas. It features traditional Italian dishes made from recipes that came with Carmen Miceli (Frank and Joe's father, and founder of the original Miceli's) when he arrived fresh off the boat from Sicily. Linguine is a favorite, and lasagna is a legend. The scampi is also highly recommended. -- Lena Katz

I had the Ribeye and Scampi special for about $20.00. It was not only execellent, but it is the best deal in town (And the entertainment is free!).

Food is not that good
By cataisle on 05/10/2006
I don't see how anyone could say Micel's has the best food in town. Clearly that just isn't so. I have eaten here a few times in the last several months and find the food to be just mediocre. I like the singing entertainment by the staff who wait on you, but that just isn't enough to compensate for the food quality. I'm going to look elsewhere for better Italian food.

The food is very good but the entertainment is wonderful. Just remember to NEVER go there on a weekend after 7pm. You may wait for well over an hour for a table.
