When Pizarro landed in Peru in the sixteenth century he was looking for gold but found potatoes instead. This plain, brightly-lit restaurant charged with the sounds of South American music has taken that staple of the Incan diet and put it into such wonderful dishes as huancaina (an egg-and-potato salad) and lomo saltado (stir-fried with meat and vegetables). But Mario's is really about seafood. Try such delicacies as the cold squid salad, steamed mussels buried beneath a mass of pickled onions, and the luscious stir-fry of shrimp, squid, octopus, onions and tomatoes.

Viva la Asia y Peru
By jparkracer on 04/19/2000
Marios has a great fusion of Asian and South American all in one. The squid is the most tender you will ever taste, every spoonful is a mouth watering experience. You'll just want to devour every last bite. The atmosphere isnt your typical five star experience, but the service along with the food and great people around you will keep you coming back for more. I love Marios Saltado de Marisco and Picante de Marisco. The pakring situation needs to be remedied, but find a spot on the street and your set for some awsoe food at a great price. When you dine in youll get the softest warmest bread which you top with guacamole sauce that tintalizes your tongue for a nice cup of Ochata.
