Occupying some serious real estate above Sur La Table is this hybrid family-friendly restaurant and entertainment spectacle. On the Kaiten side of the glass-encased Kado, a serpentine conveyor belt circulates fresh sashimi and sushi rolls around the sushi bar. In a high-tech nod to freshness, infrared microchips underneath each plate actually time the lifespan of each dish, kicking them to the curb if they've outlasted their welcome. On the Teppan side, talented chefs take a cue from their Benihana predecessors, slicing and dicing Kobe beef steaks, shrimp, lobster and scallops amid dancing flames, all while crooning tunes such as 'Kung Fu Fighting' and 'Hotel California.' Grill-side hi-jinks also include the steaming onion volcano and new twists on Ginzu classics. Kado also has a lounge and outdoor area with a refreshing ledge-side view of The Grove.

Poor Management
By noellejustine on 09/01/2007
Management was very rude and menu does not include rules in regards to splitting fees or how they establish gratuity. Kado tries to screw you and large parties out of money without making their rules aware to the customers in either black and white or verbally from the wait staff. The sushi isn't all that fantastic either. The only good thing about this place was the performance by the chef; aside from that, myself and the 8 other people I went there with, will not be returning.

Finally!
By jmurray107 on 03/02/2007
Finally, the Farmers Market and the Grove have Sushi as well as other japanese food. We were pleasanty surprised how high the quality of sushi was off the conveyor. They also have a gourmet sushi menu that you can find some great and interesting items. This weekend we are trying the Teppanyaki side were they cook at your table. That looks pretty cool. Kind of like an upscale Benihana.
