Owner and chef Joe Miller presides over a newly expanded kitchen that turns out tomato-and-fontina croque messieurs and other fresh Cali-French temptations. Gobble a grilled hanger steak with smashed Yukon potatoes, red onions and spinach salad, or scarf squid-ink tagliolini with Florida red shrimp and Maine diver scallops. The seafood selections grow even bolder at dinner, as roasted eastern monkfish with pancetta chips and fava beans swims alongside a perfect New Zealand red snapper. The seasonal prix-fixe alternative gives diners the chance to survey delicacies like yellow squash risotto, smoked lobster stew or poached wild salmon with baked roma tomatoes. Weekend brunch is a perennial favorite, but come nightfall, Joe's dims the lights for one of LA's sexiest dining vibes.
