Rate and Write a Review Partnering up with 'Everybody Loves Raymond' producer Phil Rosenthal to infuse a different perspective (and perhaps more cash) into her operation, chef/owner Suzanne Tracht peppered her already notable restaurant with many reinvigorating ingredients, and it emerged with a renewed soul after a 10-week hiatus. With the retro feel of a WW II-era American chophouse, people may feel as if they should get dressed to the nines to dine amid the rich greens and browns of Jar, but casual works, too. The '40s-style supper club with good taste and class (from service to cuisine) has a more refined vision of itself than its previous incarnation, with menu items such as the roasted beet salad and black mussels with water spinach and lobster bearnaise (accentuated by a potent fennel salt). In addition, the signature pot roast with caramelized onions more than assuages pot roast fans, and the Sunday brunch has some notable items, too, such the lobster benedict and the pot roast hash. If you think food is out of this world, then the UFO-like light fixtures will feel right on theme. Also, Monday night is "Mozzarella Night," where Nancy Silverton of Campanile fame, presides over a slew of creamy concoctions for the stellar cheese.
