Govinda's Buffet   

Maybe you've driven by this place. It's hard to miss -- a saffron-colored anomaly in a quiet Culver City neighborhood. Or maybe you've seen a few guys in robes crossing Venice Boulevard as you wait at a stoplight. But did you know that the Hare Krishna temple is actually a hotbed of vegetarian cuisine frequented by the studio set? Govinda's, located inside the Los Angeles Hare Krishna Temple, has become a favorite of local Sony employees and even a few celebrities. (They say Sharon Stone has stopped by.) The small restaurant features a variety of vegan-friendly vegetarian dishes at reasonable prices. For $6 all-you-can-eat there's a full salad bar, fresh juice, pizza, pasta, sandwiches and a daily selection of Indian dishes -- the curry is a particular favorite. After lunch, visit the Govinda's boutique for Indian imports including clothes, incense and books.
