For once, the over-used 'eclectic' modifier rings true. Originally a caf and music venue that many credit with jump-starting the burgeoning NoHo Arts District, owner Brian Sheehan's Eclectic Caf has evolved into a stylish, full-service restaurant with a menu that offers -- as the name declares -- a little something for everyone. Appetizers run the gamut from Chinese pot stickers to chicken satay to pesto bruschetta to crab cakes to Nioise salad -- that's five distinct cuisines even before the main course. A large selection of pastas, burgers and pizza is available, as well as more ambitious dishes including grilled salmon with a scallion vinaigrette, roasted chicken in lemon-rosemary sauce, sesame-dusted ahi tuna in soy-ginger sauce and a decadent chocolate crme brle. The room, carved into intimate spaces by undulating concrete dividers, sports candlelit tables dramatically decked out in black linen, palm fronds, and bold modern and Native American art.
