The fried chicken and pie-like pancakes served up at Dinah's have kept customers flooding through the restaurant doors since it opened in 1959. The apple, German and banana nut pancakes take 20-25 minutes to cook and spill over the sides of the plate. The apple ones are filled with fresh, sliced apples and topped with a crunchy brown sugar and cinnamon mixture, while the bowl-shaped Germans are served with a trifecta of whipped butter, lemons and powdered sugar. For less than a buck, upgrade to the larger size. It's big enough for two. Beyond breakfast, the fried chicken's the star. A giant replica of a bucket of Dinah's chicken sits proudly atop the take-out building, in case you miss the point. Monday and Thursday, the chicken is all-you-can-eat. Dinners come with banana nut bread, which is also available for takeout. For tradition loyalists, Dinah's also has typical coffee shop fare, served in atomic-era dark red booths with UFO-shaped light covers hovering over the tables. -- Lydia Marcus

I have been eating at Dinahs for over 20 years. It is a favorite of the locals of Culver City and Westcher area of Los Angeles. Their apple pan cake is wonderful. The spanish omelete is very good. They have week day all you can eat specials. The servers are very nice, help, and friendly. The prices are reasonable. It is worth your time to try it at least once. Be aware that Saturday and Sunday mornings, it is very crowded and you may have to wait a while.
