Dagwoods claims to have a corner on the New York-style pizza market. As far as the Westside is concerned, the small local chain may be justified in its claim. A single slice weighs about as much as NY city manhole cover, with the cheese possessing just the right gooey stringiness to merit a thumbs up from a native New Yawka. But, as the restaurant's name alludes, Dagwoods also specializes in sandwiches -- 10-inch subs, to be exact. Pastas, calzones, buffalo wings and salads round out the menu, as well as an ample variety of desserts (cannolis, cookies, cheesecake) that far exceeds the range of your average pizza joint.
