Low-carb out; Breadbar in. Eric Kayser's Breadbar goes beyond the grain of whole and white bread monotony with varieties like curcuma hazelnut, rustic millstone, olive, fig and walnut at this friendly, sidewalk cafe. Prosciutto, brie, Parisian mushrooms, roasted eggplant, fresh basil, Roma tomatoes, baby spinach, mesclun and emmentaller cheese can all be found on the list of ingredients piled between two pieces of five grain pain de mie or Tuscan bread. The hoity-toity make the short drive from 90210 to this cafe to sit alongside struggling actors who can afford to fork out the $9 for the tomato basil quiche. Salads and omelets are also served up for those who can't seem to leave Atkins behind. The Breadbar is located near the Beverly Center, which means after you devour the chocolate mousse, lemon meringue or any one of the tempting tarts for dessert, you can walk off a fraction of the calories on your way to the mall.
