This excellent eatery specializes in the cooking of the Yucatan, a distant and dreamlike cousin of the cuisine found throughout most of Mexico. Although we urge you to consider cochinita pibil (the definitive Yucatecan dish), a stew of marinated pork flavored with achiote (annatto seed), and the steam-baked tender lamb shanks, every single dish at Babita is utterly tempting. Oh, and be sure to leave room for dessert, as you'll also find LA's best flans here.

Chiles en Nogada
We travel all the way from San Diego just for the Chiles en Nogada. You will not find any place better. It helps if you call the day before the prep takes a long time.

Real Mexican food - Forget the Rice & Beans
Now tradition in our house,, a trip over to Babita's during the holidays or any days.. great food.. more akin to Mexico City than the Baja; Babita herself is a treat, as is her dad & mom..Hands down the BEST

we have been here twice now and the food is great. an intimate atmosphere, with the best food in the san gabrial valley. the fln is to die for. we highly recommend babita to nyone who enjoys excellent food and great service.
