From the colossal clay oven on the inside to the dramatic fire pit on the mural-lined patio, Aroma Bakery Cafe is big into baking -- be it puff pastries, pizzas or the doughy specialty "Jachnun" (Saturday and Sunday only) that has to cook overnight. As throngs of Gen-Y-ers sit around the covered patio watching cars as they zip by on Ventura Boulevard, a diverse menu fraught with everything from pastas to the popular Israeli specialty, the Bagel Toast, get slung out of the kitchen. And the sweets are not to be missed; not just because there's a huge wing inside called "The Cookie Jar," origin of their dessert called the Cookie Mountain, but because there's a hot chocolate cake that could feed an entire village.

NEVER AGAIN !!!
I tried Aroma on Sunset for the first time yesterday and it was hands down, the absolute WORST dining experience I've ever had. Their staff was rude, arrogant and highly unattentive. They have a huge banner in front of the building that says "Open During Training" and I would suggest that they close back down and work on their staff for a few more weeks. Someone forgot to tell these pathetic, ignorant souls that having a snooty attitude went out of style back in the 80's. As for me trying it again.....NEVER !!! there are way too many other restaurant choices in L.A.

the food is very salty and overpriced. the staff (isreally) are rude and they have no manners and cannot communicate they should go back where they come from.
Aroma: Little Israel
Aroma's hour policy: open until the last customer leaves. Show up at 2am-4am and be prepared to wait for some amazing real Israeli food. It is open nearly 24 hours. Enormous salads, homemade pasta, lemonade with spearmint, authentic bagel toasts, and desserts you can only otherwise find in Israel. You will never be disappointed with quality; it is a constant 10. You will always be disappointed with service because it is Israeli style: if you want help you must ask for it do not be ashamed. Aroma is the only truly Mediterranean style cafe in Los Angeles.
