When you think of the MGM Grand, you don't think of quaint eateries. But to a certain extent, 'wichcraft is just that. However, the minimalist, post-modern decor of 'wichcraft reinforces the northeastern-chic, award-winning taste chef Tom Colicchio brought to the original location in New York City. Colored in shades of lime and red, touched off with metallic paneling, the only traditional element of the mise en scene is the wooden floors. You can chose to sit inside the sparsely decorated deli, or eat amidst pedestrians shuffling up and down the casino's Studio Walk.

Menu offerings range from sophisticated twists on classic deli fare to wholly original concoctions. A host of sandwiches both hot and cold are available, including the house-roasted pork loin served with red cabbage, jalapenos and mustard on ciabatta and the Sicilian tuna with fennel served on a baguette. In addition, specially prepared pastries such as sticky buns, seasonal fruit muffins, and scones can be scooped up for a quick snack or serve as breakfast. And given that so many menu options abound, you may forget to check out the wine, beer and soft drink options that are as extensive and unique as the menu itself. -- Kevin Capp
