From the Editors

World-renowned Chef Joel Robuchon brings Paris to the MGM Grand with this upscale French restaurant located inside the space that used to be the hotel's race and sports book, a sign that quality cuisine has taken a graciously higher spot in Vegas' priorities. L'Atelier's impressive dining room features unique counter service that allows patrons to watch the masterful chefs prepare their meal in front of their eyes. The modern decor sports a bold black and red color scheme throughout. Seating options include table seating, but the real action takes place at the granite topped U-shaped bar that offers great views of the kitchen. Authentic French dishes such as la caille farcie de foie gras and agneau en carre dore are just two of the restaurant's signature dishes. Though Joel Robuchon doesn't personally oversee the kitchen -- as with any celebrity chef with multiple restaurants -- the menu and execution of the dishes are beholden completely to his style and demands of consistent excellence. A tasting menu and an extensive selection of wines from around the world are available at price levels that even that average gambler will find affordable. -- Jodi Saunders
