Las Vegas has recruited showroom attractions from Broadway and the top of the music charts, but it's not often that the Entertainment Capital of the World imports a new headliner from Scottsdale, Arizona. That's where Chris Phillips and Marley Taylor, a duo better known as Zowie Bowie, have played to sold-out audiences for more than five years. Yes, David Bowie named his son Zowie, but there's no relation. Still, given the array of musical styles covered by this talented boy-girl pair, you just might hear 'Space Oddity' or 'Diamond Dogs' during one of their sets at Rock's Lounge. What makes a great lounge act? The kind of energy and enthusiasm that draws people out of the casino, and an ever-changing set list to encourage repeat business. Phillips and Taylor deliver on both counts; reviews of their Scottsdale concerts compared the act to a motivational experience. And their musical assortment ranges from Liza Minnelli to 50 Cent. Expect an MTV-style show on weekdays, and formal dress and a big band on Saturday, when Zowie Bowie brings back the glory days of the Rat Pack.
