Sleek and futuristic, Bare at first glance looks like the courtyard of an office complex. A really classy office complex, though – the kind that gives executive bonuses in the six figures.

But no one in this exclusive adult enclave is thinking about work. The long rectangular pool, surrounded by private daybeds, offers a secluded sanctuary for what is politely described as European sunbathing, better known to the rest of us as topless. It’s such a small area that at times it seems every guest has their own staff to provide such VIP extras as frozen fruit, smoothies, popsicles and iced towels (flavored, of course). A DJ spins music to tan by, and the nearby dolphin habitat offers another delightful diversion while soaking up the sun. – David Hofstede
