The Joint is the city's most versatile showroom, and since opening in 1994, it has acquired a reputation as the classiest rock 'n' roll venue in Las Vegas. Playing The Joint has become a status symbol for both classic and modern rock bands, from Blur to the Rolling Stones. Depending on who's headlining, the room converts from a standard concert hall with folding chairs and small round tables to an open floor for dancing and even moshing. The acoustics are superb, equally pristine for the hard-rocking thump of Danzig or the quiet bluegrass fiddle of Alison Krauss. Sometimes the place can get overloaded (as can many of the patrons), and you'll definitely pay for the privilege of seeing an arena band in a 1,500-seat venue. But when The Joint is jumping, it's the best place in town.

Not too hot

I agree with the previous post - bad, bad sound! What gives? It's the Hard Rock for crying out loud! Having to leave the place just to go to the bathroom sucks too.

Bad Sound
By tamiahz on 10/17/2005
The Joint gets a lot of great acts but the showroom is one of the worse venues I've ever been to. The sound is lousy as best and usually there are PA problems that detract even more. Whoever designed the ceiling didn't have music in mind - no thought to the acoustics whatsoever. I've even seen bands that were playing there complain more than once! To make matters worse, one must leave the Joint and enter the casino just to use the restroom. (They are small so there will be a line!) The venue not only allows cigarette smoking inside, but also allows cigar smoking so you can imagine the stench when the doors shut and the show begins. Advice: stay away! Check out the House of Blues; they did it right.
