Since 1940 the Cuellar brothers have carried on the tradition of authentic Tex-Mex cuisine. Now under new management, the restaurant continues to flourish. The casual, family-friendly ambience is particularly inviting to families with large appetites who want to refuel after a long day. The kid's menu allows children under 12 to feast on everything from corn dogs to Mexican pizza for no more than $2.99 (drink included). Their award- winning Mexican Margaritas are also worth a try, during a meal or while watching the game on their color TV beforehand.

El Chico is really great restaurant. HOWEVER EL CHICO CLOSED IT DOORS SIX (6) MONTHS AGO IN JACKSON MS DUE TO A LACK OF BUSINESS IN THE WEST JACKSON METRO CENTER..
AOL SHOULD NOT RECOMMEND A RESTURANT THAT IS CLOSED.

El Chico isn't even open anymore! Besides that, it sucked even when it was. Giving it a high rating would be the equivalent of saying Olive Garden is the greatest authentic Italian food.

Make a note on this net that this restaurant no longer exist!! Sad to say We all love it in it's heyday!! We came to miss in 97 and it was a really popular place!! Always packed on 'Friday and Sats nights!! Loved the food!! My son and I were there in March of this year and had pretty nice dinners for less when you come in the afternoons and that was the last time we went . WE were going to go back to it but I couldn't believe that I seen a for sale sign and no other rest. signs saying El Chico. Don't know if they went to another part of town or just went out of business ??? maybe you can find out if they moved??? Let us know!! We would love to go back to that rest. Thank you!!
