One of Houston's most popular and notorious nightclubs, Numbers has been hosting a variety of great bands and dance music since 1978. The Village People, Nine Inch Nails, Elliot Smith, Snoop Dogg and Paul Oakenfold are among the artists who have played at Numbers, along with some of the best local and regional bands in genres from pop to punk. Five nights a week Numbers draws an all-ages, alternative crowd, with top progressive DJs. Tuesday is sometimes Swing Night (check the schedule), but Thursday is eternally Goth Night and Friday is the famed '80s Night with the immensely popular 50-cent Shiner. Numbers offers a roomy dance floor and two giant video screens that flash remix videos, created especially for this Houston institution. Done dancing?
