Once the site of a movie house, The Webster Theatre is one of Hartford's best places to catch live music. Restored to its art deco splendor inside and out, the Webster is in one of the oldest buildings in the city's historic south end. All types of musical acts are booked here, from Tommy Lee to Vonda Shepherd. Look for hard rock, pop, blues and jazz performers to grace the stage; if it's good music, this fine old establishment will host it. Having kept the original motion picture screen intact, the theater can play videos or show films during performances. A spacious dance floor, an elevated loge area and five bars add to the comfortable atmosphere.

i really like the close atmosphere in there to see bands... but you better reeeeeally wanna see em, cuz the surrounding neighborhood is the pits! leave the nice ride at home and have your friend drive you in his POS car. they need to just airlift this bar and drop it into an upgraded neighborhood.

Not for me
By theleprekahn on 01/12/2007
I checked out the Webster many times. Not the place for me. Granted, they have some great performers, but the scenery and atmosphere defimnately needs a shape up. Webster Theatre is located in a bad section of Hartford, "Webster St" where there has already this year been two shootings, and the parking is horrible. Even if you pay the extra 5 bucks for parking, don't come up with a good car, you'll see it on cinderblocks or you'll be missing your cd player or rims. When you get into the Webster it's dirty and not well kept. Overall, Webster is not a great place to go and definately needs to improve.
