Milton Hershey's dream of building a world-class hotel in the midst of the Depression was realized in the Hotel Hershey, and The Circular Dining Room is its crowning jewel. Aptly named, it has no corners, just a curving expanse of soaring, leaded windows surrounded by stained glass panels. Tables are far apart, served by well-trained teams of two. The lushness of the room is equaled by the beautiful view of Hershey's famous and ever-changing formal gardens.

The menu changes seasonally, so expect venison in the winter and salmon in spring. Signature house-smoked trout is usually available as an appetizer and sells out fast. Vegetarians will find dishes such as wild mushroom tart intriguing, and meat-lovers will drool for the tender fillet with garlic mashed potatoes. Also available are rich soups such as lobster bisque. The Sunday buffet brunch, often booked weeks in advance, is a glamorous, bargain-priced way to sample the Hershey's best. -- Tracey Meloni
