A classic beach-town hybrid of restaurant and bar, Phil’s is a favorite local retreat and a sure bet for good times and good food. So gather some good friends and head out for one of the best burgers at the beach –- aptly dubbed the Killer Burger –- piled high with as little or as much as you like on an 8-ounce slab of ground beef. But there’s more than the beef -– other favorites include the Cajun blackened chicken, seafood specials, seasonal soft-shell crab and the island-style jerked catfish fillet. Portions: large. Psychedelic tabletops and bold, original, local artwork on display (and for sale) will take you back to an era of peace, love and happiness. Another throwback, a foosball table, is always popular -- with the younger crowd during dinner hours, and later on with those “of age” seeking some more serious matches. A hot spot in the early evenings throughout the week, Phil’s bar really kicks into high gear on weekends, when live music -- Cajun, rock, funk or jazz -- caters to the late-night crowd.
