A fine-dining establishment with linen tablecloths but no dress code, Duba's has become a custom for local folks celebrating anniversaries and birthdays. The Duba family started this steak-and-potatoes restaurant in a building on the west side of the city in 1950. Today, it sprawls on a ten-acre spread just off the 196 expressway, a move reflecting the popularity of an eatery that hasn't lost its personal touch. The current location has a capacity of 500, counting the banquet rooms downstairs, as well as the five dining rooms and bar upstairs. You'll still see a Duba or two visiting with customers on any given day. Some of the waitresses have been with the restaurant for more than 30 years. Ultimately, it's the food that keeps people coming back. The menu offers American fare including beef, pork, chicken, seafood and pasta, and has a reputation for the best prime rib around. -- Gail Philbin
