This popular Indian restaurant recently moved from its non-descript mall location on 28th Street to an older Eastown building full of character. The hungry who enter Bombay Cuisine's brilliantly painted entryway are tortured by a sweet mix of smells wafting from a large, open kitchen in full view of diners. The two-room restaurant includes a modestly furnished dining area with framed reproductions of Indian art on the walls and the adjacent Chai Cafe, which showcases the work of local artists such as Reb Roberts. Bombay Cuisine's menu offers delicious and seemingly endless combinations of meat, lentils, vegetables and Indian spices. The real treat, though, is the traditional Indian bread (naan), made on the premises in ovens specially designed to bake these soft disks of doughy delight.
