Rate and Write a Review Memories of the rough-and-tumble Alpine Lounge are fading fast under the five-star reception Ten Bells is enjoying as one of the area's best new venues to enjoy local artists and national acts. Roomy and accented by warm, classic, dark-stained woodwork, with plenty of bar, booth and table space, Ten Bells offers a souped-up sound system, concert lighting and raised stage that blues and rock performers reverberate six nights a week. Untouchable Tuesdays feature the best in local and regional psychedelic and experimental rock. Wednesdays the Rock & Roll Circus is headlined by two or three of the state's top various-genre rock bands. Thursdays the Rock Showcase highlights rising national and local rock talents. Weekend Party Live Rock on Friday and Saturday ranges from live remote broadcasts, CD release parties and a variety of first-time to seasoned performers. And Sundays, local blues diva Roberta Bradley hosts Open Mic Night. The largest screen in West Michigan lures sports aficionados to the scene as well. Saturday, Sunday and Monday night football specials include $1 drafts, $1 chili cheese dogs and $1.50 Chicago Dogs, among others. Charismatic Chef Daniel Emshoff (aka Elvis Fonzerelli) serves up a diverse menu featuring appetizers until 1AM; the place is stocked with a wide selection of beers, scotch, whiskey, tequila, vodka and wine -- definitely, kick back and stay a while. -- Lisa M.
