Keeping the Music Alive 07/10/2007

 

 

Billy's is a cool place to experience live music, dance and have a good time. The diverse and friendly crowd, generous drinks and great wait staff are a delight. A major drawback is the fact that you have to risk a wicked flight of stars (after a couple drinks) to enter their rural gas station/jailhouse pisshole style restroom.

Four stars for a reason. No menu. Thank goodnes the troll is gone. Left with his name, so a group got together, and have made some great changes. The place is finally clean. What a nice place to go and listen to live music. That is the most important thing. Live music. The blues? Bring in some more. Pack the house, get Yesterdog to deliver. Great sound system, wait staff is wonderful. Bouncers are ugly, and you gotta like that! Bring on the Blues! It might be .. it could be.. what Ossie... made the place. Lets never forget that.

billy's is a nice blues bar, but the rythym kitchen was definitely better...better atmospher and more clubs nearby....to sum it up...live music is dead in grand rapids...sorry

Ding dong the dummy is gone. Now all Billy's has to do is get over the stygma of Billy and they are well on the way with a total remodeling job and a excellent wait staff. Lyndi and crew are out to erase any doubt from your mind that this is the place to be for blues. If you haven't been there in a while, go, you'll be amazed by the changes.
