From the Editors
Are you in the mood for beef, beer and stogies?
Well, beef is best at The Hammond, but not on
Friday and Saturday nights. Though the restaurant
is best known for its prime rib and steaks, on
those nights things get a little fishy. Let's
face it: There aren't that many places in the
area where you can dine on mahimahi, Chilean sea
bass or Hawaiian moonfish (from the Fijian
coast). As for beer, well, The Hammond prides
itself on its extensive selection of brews and
microbrews, but -- well, let's just say that beer
snobs should take their business elsewhere or
just sit back and quietly enjoy The Hammond's
perfectly decent selection. Cigar snobs will
probably be fairly pleased with the Cigar Store,
however. Now all The Hammond needs is a smoking
room. But maybe they'll let you puff away in the
downstairs lounge and liquor store.
