Step into the Victorian atmosphere of one of the most popular steakhouses in Jackson. The strip steak, prime rib and filet mignon are favorites, but Gilbert's also serves up lake perch, chicken bearnaise and fried shrimp. Smoking is permitted, and a kid's menu is available. Gilbert's has been filling bellies for more than half a century, and there seems to be no reason why people in Jackson will go hungry in the 21st century.

As the reviewer says, 'there's no reason the people of Jackson will go hungry in the 21st century' (as long as they don't rely on eating at Gilbert's, that is.)

It takes more then a ride on the coat tails of a good name, but Jackson is "Poor, stupid Jackson, they wouldn't know the difference.......Guess somebody did. It's for sale...
