Rate and Write a Review Let's face it, the zoo's the only place in Detroit where you can actually see a yawning yak or a leaping lemur. Raising animals in the closest thing to their natural habitat, the Detroit Zoo continues to be a source of wonder and an ideal theater in which to view everyone in the animal kingdom, from the majestic lion to, yes, the rat. The only thing better than getting a glorious eyeful of a gecko or colorful tree frog is the look of awe and amazement on children touching the glass that separates them from the creatures. Highlights include the Arctic Ring of Life, the world's largest polar bear exhibit, where you can walk through a 70-foot tunnel beneath the marine world of the zoo's bears.
