A small arena in an industrial park-area of Plymouth, Compuware Arena is an often-overlooked venue. Although it is a sliver of the size of The Palace of Auburn Hills and Joe Louis Arena, Compuware Arena is nevertheless a viable player in the city. Surrounded by wetlands and woods, the 3,500-seat venue is home to the Ontario Hockey League's Plymouth Whalers and soccer's Detroit Rockers. Occasionally, it hosts high school graduations, concerts and trade shows. Well-known Detroit restaurateurs, the Ginopolis family, added their touch to the arena, opening an American- and Greek-style eatery in the venue. -- Christina Fuoco
